EDUCATION / TEACHING FROM THE GARDEN
Growing Together
Teaching from the Garden is a series of teacher training workshops that provide a unique opportunity to learn about gardening, farming, food and nutrition as you develop skills and techniques for getting students and community members involved in hands-on activities that can change their diet, schools, neighborhoods, and community.
These half-day workshops are provided for teachers, community leaders, master gardeners, beginning gardeners, parents, and others interested in bringing organic gardening and food and nutrition practices and concepts to children, youth, and community members.
Participants in Teaching from the Garden will learn:
- How to use a garden as a teaching tool
- How to start and maintain a school or community garden
- Principles and practices of growing organic vegetables
- Available curriculum resources for garden education
- Experiential education techniques for garden and classroom
- Curriculum extension and collaboration opportunities
Please join us in getting students growing!
