Administrative Assistant - Full-time position – 40 hours per week

 

SUMMARY

Provide administrative support to JVUF management, education programs, and farm staff. Duties include general clerical, receptionist and project based work. Project a professional company image through in-person, electronic and phone interaction.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Answer telephones, email and convey messages to appropriate staff.
  2. Create and modify documents using Microsoft Office.
  3. Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to: photocopying, data entry, data management, faxing, mailing, and filing.
  4. Maintain hard copy and electronic filing system.
  5. Check and distribute mail.
  6. Research, price, and purchase office equipment and supplies.
  7. Coordinate and maintain records for staff office space, phones, company credit cards and office keys.
  8. Setup and coordinate meetings and conferences.
  9. Maintain and distribute staff weekly schedules.
  10. Assist bookkeeper with basic record keeping.
  11. Support staff in assigned project based work.
  12. Develop and ensure timely submission of program and event public relations materials.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide office orientation for new employees.
  2. Welcome and orient visitors as needed

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and electronic media. 
  2. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and telephone protocol.
  3. A passion for Jones Valley Urban Farm’s mission and a willingness to work as a team-player.

 

 

Compensation

$11 an hour

Health insurance stipend

Two weeks paid vacation

Fresh organic produce by the bushel
